It was a Privilege to visit F5 networks and Microsoft. You really gain a whole new perspective when your State side on how the big boys in I.T roll compared to what we have in New Zealand (where’s NZ again?)

The Microsoft Redmond Campus is massive, sprawls and sprawls. its about 8 million ft2 (750,000 m2) of office space and 30,000 employees.

Starbucks and Movie grade popcorn anyone?

The Windows “surface” / table or whatever…great fun playing 4 man pong on

Redmond is Picturesque in Fall for sure…

Experience Music Project (EMP), Seattle

Experience Music Project (EMP) is another must see in Seattle. Heaven for a music buff but still fun if you you’re not a big music fan, heaps of interactive areas. Jimi Hendrix room is pretty rad and so was the impromptu jam session with a bunch of randoms.

Seattle Science Fiction Museum

Science Fiction Museum in Seattle, which is in the same building as the Experience Music Project is worth adding to the admission price. Im not a big Sci Fi fan however it was still pretty cool seeing familiar props and characters from well known movies.

Pike Place Markets

The Pike Place Market Place is a Must See when in Seattle. I would like to know where else in the world you can get comic books, fresh fish, doughnuts, handmade ocarinas, and framed art all in the same place. Its the home of the first Starbucks and the signature attraction fish thrown left and right.

Garfield vs redmond

On the way home from work I was drawn in by the sounds of a drumline, It was coming from Memorial Stadium where a high school football match just kicked off. Real treasure find! Ive always wanted to see a High school match, especially to see how good they are here and compare to the standard of Gridiron in New Zealand. All I can say is the Hutt valley Spartans (open grade) I was part of got nothing on high schoolers here haha.

Visiting team, Redmond High Mustangs won 27-0, shuting out Garfield Bulldogs. I was pretty guttered with the lost – 4hrs in the Garfield camp with heckling parents got me in the zone. Garfield’s side of the stadium was raging compared to the empty visitor stands across the field. The halftime show was high school musical styles pro and stadium eats was pretty good

Seattle from the Space Needle

Yeah of course I had to go up the Space Needle. It was just up the road where I was staying and it was reasonably cheap ($9) too. Its far from the the top 10 tallest structures in the world and it’s not actually the highest observation deck in Seattle either, but its the icon of the city and its still pretty cool. Definitely hit it up at night with the glowing lights of the city, during the day its always rainy and cloudy. There’s a top notch restaurant up there called Sky City and it does a full “Orbit” each hour.
