An oasis of calm, high up on the hills with stunning views of Los Angeles. They have collections of paintings and sculptures in a few different buildings, you could spend hours wondering around in here. Well, apparently the museum does not compare with most famous museums – but that’s art buffs for you. I guess the attraction of the Getty is the Center itself! The modern architecture, garden landscaping and the panoramic view. Well worth the trip.

Last time I had a 5mp Camera, this time with proper SLR. Yuss!

Kudos to the Team, I’ve never seen a team of talented street performers as causal and athletic as this, doing flips over people and concrete for a bucket of gratuity. The best $10 I’ve ever spent. Amazing.

Nevertheless, a walk is definitely the best way to explore the waterfront scene. You could spend a day just people watching or checking out street performers, skaters, artists, street ballers and wacky street characters. There’s vendors selling all kinds of items from Medical Marijuana to “Your name on a grain of rice”.

As usual, the Lakers didn’t disappoint. They kept the Blazers under 100 so everyone in the area got two free tacos.A real bonus was Kiwi Sean Marks playing a solid 10min and hitting 2 from 2…I bet, I was the only person in the nose bleed section stoked about that…

Probably one of the coolest finds was the Melrose Trading Post Flea Market…

In West Hollywood, around Fairfax and Melrose, every Sunday you will find the Melrose Trading Post Flea Market at Fairfax High School. Here you can find bargain clothing, jewelry, music, food and more. The most interest vendor there had to be the random photos and Polaroids dealer – for $1 you could get a couple 2nd photos, of say a somebody’s family portrait or baby photos. Creepy. If your keen for a hunt or just a walk, there are heaps vintage gems and interesting characters to talk to – for just a $2 entry, its worth the visit.

Orange County is definitely one of the nicer parts of greater Los Angeles. Ok I’m not sure if it’s part of LA, but there sure is no demarcation to LA’s infinite sprawl.

OC’s roads are wide, malls are massive, cars are fast, homes are luxurious, homeless people aren’t homeless, and malls are full of beauty pageants.

We were based in Costa Mesa, just over the bridge from South Coast Plaza (which we spent every spare moment at) . Disneyland and Laguna Beach is around the corner, but hey, this ain’t a holiday (yet). Here are some pics on the way to the Office…

coming into the the most important day in my life, nerves were high…word was kobe was gonna get traded, he had missed a few games before that day because he was on the trading block. we did not pay paid premium tickets to see kobe was in a suit! had it happen, I would have to walk to a liquor store in Compton at nightfall.

a ah kobe did play! and he sure did put on a show, the KOBE show… i cannot believe how good this guy is. you need to see him dominate live to really appreciate his skills…btw the lakers played well, utah were ok. check out the box score

The clippers wasjust collateral. They happen to be playing 5hrs before them, so we decided to make it a day and see both. there are suh contrasts to each game environment. its amazing how they clean up and change all the banners, floor and markings for the next game.

downtown LA get off at PICO station then walk to the Staples Center

the stadium doesnt even get busy till 1/2hr before a game.

errr the clippers are a good no nonsense team they beat seattle that day
but you can tell they are a second class team in LA…they had about half the crowd of the lakers that day. They could never steal the heart of the people of LA – theyre all about drama.

tip: pay cheap seats for the clippers
