Devconnections Conference, Mandalay Bay

Back at the Mandalay! Booth #429 is where we spent most of our time in Vegas, meetings, educating Web performance best practices and selling our web accelerator product. The Devconnections conference was smaller than the Sharepoint conference in ’09 and the attendees were predominately the Microsoft developer community, highly technical. Still the attendants were in the thousands. Our booth was swamped most of the time, without our Lead scanner I don’t think we could have registered all the interest we had! Overall the conference was a success, we brought home a ton of leads and the Award for best ASP.net product in the conference

Nothing much has changed since I last visited, SSDD. However the City Center complex construction had just completed! With a total cost of approximately $11 billion…niceee.

Booth #1007

Booth #1007 was the spot where we spent most of our time in Vegas. I think we had the most straight forward product at the conference and we could hook in people with 5 words – “we speed up your website”, speed is big pain point so everyone loved our website accelerator (and our odd kiwi jokes and accents). We had heaps of fun and over the 4 days we meet a lot of interested stakeholders, took home hundreds of leads and the notorious man flu.

Vegas tour in the Limos

Fremont Street is vintage Vegas. A Must see, at night the neon canopy lights up. Cheap drinks & $2 black jack tables here…

Golden Gate hotel & casino boss was handing out chips like pringles. Pretty sure he won all the chips back (and some) by the end of the night…

Miles and miles of casino, all foot traffic is routed through the casinos (which are all linked) so you can’t escape them on the strip. Play your cards and know when to leave, you could win enough for dinner and drink enough pre drinks before heading out, but that’s not very exiting is it?

Great view, Great Food, Good Friends, Average photos. Take your friends out to the Mix Lounge @ THEhotel if you want to earn Baller status.

Who knew a 6 course meal of diva portions could get you full. OK I see the point now
