I’m a big fan of Mamak food. Quick, cheap and tasty. Any mamak stall in Malaysia would beat a Malaysian restaurant back in New Zealand. After eating roti canai in malaysia, you feel robbed of the authenticity and freshness a Malaysian restaurant delivers. Heres a few spots in KL, a couple in China town and one at Batu Caves (touristy areas = touristy prices)
