The 9th Ward of New Orleans was one of the worst hit neighbourhoods from Hurricane Katrina in ’05, most of the damage was caused by storm surge when levees in the Industrial Canal busted. Five years later life in the neighbourhood is back, however relatively vacant, abandoned buildings and wrecked infrastructure are scattered among new eco homes. While few houses were rebuilt in resemblance of original homes of neighbourhood, many homes are designed with the environment, cost savings and future catastrophes in mind.
