I wouldn’t say the squid at Te Papa was thaaaat “colossal”, but it is pretty damn big. Apparently it suffered colossal shrinkage and was considerably larger than the final measurement of 4.2 metres in total length. Rumor has it, Mid land sushi has brought the squid after the exhibition has finished. More info here if your interested

not the size it was during the breaking world news too. keeps shrinking!
