I grew up watching San Francisco on Full House. The most obvuis thing about this city is that its Hilly and Foggy! For me it reminds me of Wellington but its way more Diverse and gay. There are heaps of bums here too, probably more obvious than any other big city in the US. The Bay area is something like 7×7 miles so its pretty compact. Public transport is great, the BART is by far the nicest subway/rail system ive been on in the US, the trams are fun to ride on i wonder how many people do serious damage to themself by hanging out of the sides…jumping off the golden gate bridge is a popular past time for losers…. Real estate is damn expensive, no one owns homes here thanks to all the rich geeks live round here from silicon valley. The streets are colorful but sea is dirrty thanks to a badass oil spill…over in Oakland it can get pretty ghetto but its still pretty nice, berkley is a cool little town full of college students (UCLA berkley), but apprently crime there is bad though, so go over there if you want to have an intellegent conversation or mugged?, i thought it was fine. I found it funny how Heaps of people are still trying to re-live the hippy days here, the 60’s are over man…get a job, theres heaps of IT jobs here.
